Padiham Life is the local and business communities' response to the Government and Countryside Agency's Market Towns Initiative (MTI) programme. This initiative with it's focus on rural regeneration, is key to economic development and growth and co-ordinates the activities of Padiham with the rural villages of Hapton, Higham, Simonstone, Read and Sabden to work together towards these aims.

 

Padiham Life has successfully secured funding from the North West Development Agency to support the regeneration of Padiham and the surrounding areas under the Market Towns Initiative programme.

 

In order to secure this funding the steering group and project manager have undertaken a series of consultation events in order to devise a scheme and bid that meets the needs and aspirations of the local and business communities.

 

The scheme will be delivered through 5 themed project groups, which whilst having merit, achievements and outcomes in their own right, link together to form a cohesive package of real economic improvements which are sustainable. The Projects groups, which facilitate and support the delivery of the prescribed outputs and outcomes are:

 

Community Building Development for Enterprise and Resource

Town Centre Development

Delivering Social and Community Regeneration

Economic Development through Sports, Leisure and the Arts

Tourism Support and Development
